Fall Colors at Snow Basin, UT

Early Sunday morning prior to the sun coming up and to General Conference starting, I took a drive up to Snow Basin to see what fall colors I could see. Hunsaker Family trip to White Pine County, NV

We took a trip to Nevada this past weekend to visit the Great Basin National Park where we went to Lehman Cave, hiked to the top of Wheeler Peak to see the Bristlecone Forest and then on to Ely to ride the Ghost Train. The photo of Aunt Faye Steele (sister to Grandpa Rob Hunsaker) is standing in the home that she lived in as a new bride back in the mid 1930"s as a 16 year old bride. This home is located between Ely and Ruth in an old town know as Lane City. It was pretty special for everyone on the trip to experience this and see and imagine what it must have been like back in that day and time. "> "> "> "> "> "> "> THIS IS A VIEW OF STEPTOE VALLEY. THIS IS A THING OF BEAUTY TO ME, OPEN VALLEYS AND BEAUTIFUL MOUNTAINS.

HDR Photography

Here is a sample of HDR photography. I've taken three pictures of an old truck with varying degrees of exposure. The forth photo is the result of the merger of these three photos. It provides a different perspective to the objects photographed in this manner. HDR stands for High Defination Range. ">

Family Portraits

Here are some of the family portraits that I did this summer. I had to make modifications to the Hunsaker's and Smith's by putting new heads on Cardin and Jenny. Cardin's was more difficult because I had to recompose his shirt collar, pocket and sleeve on his left side. Take a look and see if you can see the areas where I made the modifications. "> "> "> ">

These are the pictures that I have selected to be placed on our wall at home.  Scarcely a day goes by that I don't take a moment to look into each of their eyes and ponder over what wonderful things are in store for each of them.  I look at them and realize that the Lord indeed did save the most valiant and best for the last days.   Each of their personalities are so strong and so unique and through your teaching and training, I am sure they will be prepared to handle all of the challenges and trials that will surely come their way.  Mom and I love our posterity and are excited for what the future has in store for all of you and yours.

Liquify Filter

This post is for the  benefit of the Kids.  When they were at Grandpa's house, I took the opportunity to distort and otherwise mutilate some good photos for the amusement of all except for CJ.  The mutilation of perfectly good photos was pretty offensive to her.  Because of that, I won't include CJ's picture since I don't want to upset her again.

Dragon Fly on the Front Porch

Here is a picture of a dragon fly purched on the stucko siding.  It was cool enough he didn't want to move much.  When it warmed up a bit, he moved away.  Because I could get so close, I used the tripod.  I tried a few different settings and even took the Aperture up to 32 just for the fun of it.  the best picture however was where I had an aperture setting of 10.  The first image has the aperture setting of 10 and the second is 32.  The second one has a warmer filter setting therefore the orange hue.
